Slovakia
Slovakia (The Slovak Republic) is a country in central Europe. It's bordered by Austria and Czech Republic in the west. The capital of Slovakia is Bratislava.
Other important cities are Košice (east of Slovakia), Žilina (north of Slovakia) and Banská Bystrica (center of Slovakia). Slovakia is member of European Union (since 2004), NATO, OECD and other international organization.
Slovakia was estabilished as independet republic (Slovak Republic) on 1. january 1993 when Czechoslovakia (ČSFR) was dissoluted. Two new countries Slovak Republic and Czech republic was estabilished.
Bratislava
Bratislava is the culture, historical, economic, business and political center of Slovakia. Bratislava is also capital of Slovak Republic.
Bratislava is placed on both banks of the Danube River (Dunaj). The dominant of Bratislava is Bratislava Castle. Bratislava is situated near the borders with Austria and Hungaria and is only 60 kilometers from Viena (Austria).
Bratislava is the most visited slovakia city by foreign tourists, especially tourists from EU countries like United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland etc. Lot of hotels, restaurants, pubs and tourist attraction are situated here.
More than 420 000 people live in Bratislava.
Tatra mountains
Tatra mountains (Tatry) is a mountain range witch major part lies in Slovakia. The highest Tatra peak is Gerlachovský štít (Gerlach peak) at 2655m lies in High Tatras.
Tatra mountains offer lot of attraction like hiking, climbing, cycling, mountain guides and beautiful nature all around.
